NAHS
National Art Honor Society
NAHS is a service organization geared towards advocating for the arts through community outreach projects and civic engagement.
Members become lifelong supporters of the arts and contribute to their community through varying projects/experiences.
Membership Requirements:
Members must participate in a minimum of 20 hours of service per semester. Members must keep track of their service hours on their documentation sheet with signatures from the faculty supervisor.
Examples of Service Hours:
Free Art Friday
Project Sunflower
Volunteering at Art Festivals
Participating in Throwdowns
Participating in Art Weekend Workshops
Participation in After School Open Studio session (creating additional work not required for class)
Visiting galleries and museums
Submitting work for competitions/exhibitions
Attending the openings of said competitions and exhibitions
Taking classes at Art Centers (Chastain, Spruill, Goat Farm, WonderRoot)
Members must attend monthly meetings.
Members must pay $25 dues annually.
Membership Eligibility:
Members must be in 10th grade or higher.
Members must complete at least one year of art in high school before eligibility.
Members must maintain an 85% or higher average in their art classes.
